For many small off-grid and RV solar projects, often these are using deep-cycle batteries from automotive distributors. Although about 12 'brands' are readily available, these are made by three main battery manfacturers:
Delphi:
--AC-Delco
--some EverStart (WalMart)
Excide:
--Champion
--Excide
--Napa

Johnson Controls:
--DieHard (Sears)
--Duralast (AutoZone)
--Interstate
--Kirkland (CostCo)
